CircuitHQ Homeowner DNO Pack: Terms of Sale
Version: 2026-10b
Last updated: 29 October 2026
These terms apply when you buy a Homeowner DNO Pack from CircuitHQ as a private individual. They are separate from the CircuitHQ Terms of Service, which apply only to businesses that subscribe to the CircuitHQ app. Please read them before you pay. You will be asked to tick a box to accept them at checkout.
1. Who we are
CircuitHQ is run by P P M Electrical Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales with company number 09676729. Our registered office is 29 Wedgewood Drive, Spalding, Lincolnshire, PE11 3FJ. Our VAT number is GB217638889.
In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean P P M Electrical Ltd. "You" means the person buying the pack.
Contact us at info@circuithq.co.uk.
We are not ENA or your DNO. We are not part of, approved by or acting for the Energy Networks Association (ENA) or any distribution network operator (DNO). The documents in your pack are prepared by us in a layout that follows the information the ENA engineering recommendations ask for. They are not official ENA or DNO forms, and we do not submit anything for you.
2. Who can buy
You can buy a pack if:
- you are at least 18;
- you are buying for yourself as a consumer, not for a business (businesses should use the CircuitHQ app); and
- the pack is for a property in Great Britain (England, Scotland or Wales) where you are the electricity customer, or you have the permission of the person who is.
The pack is not available for properties in Northern Ireland, which has its own network operator (NIE Networks) and its own forms and process.
3. What you get
Price: £100 including VAT, paid once by card. There are no subscriptions and no extra charges from us. DNO fees and any network connection works are not included in the pack price.
What the pack covers: small domestic systems under 17kW per phase. If your answers show 17kW or more per phase, CircuitHQ will not create a pack for that equipment and will tell you to contact your DNO or an installer instead.
You answer a guided set of questions about your property, your electricity supply and the equipment you plan to fit or have fitted. Based on your answers, CircuitHQ chooses the DNO route that appears to apply (see section 5) and creates a downloadable pack. Depending on your route, the pack contains:
- G98 (small equipment, up to 16 A per phase): notification documents following EREC G98: Form B1 (wired installation), Form B2 (plug-in solar kit), Form A (several properties in one area, where it applies) and Form D (decommissioning).
- G99 (equipment above the G98 limit): documents following EREC G99, including the fast-track Form A1-2 (procedures SGI-2 and SGI-3), Form A1-1, the SGI-1 notification Form A3-3, and the installation and commissioning documents (Forms A3-1, A3-2 and A2-4) where your route needs them.
- G100 (export limitation): the G100 application details and commissioning form, where your route needs an export limit.
- EV chargers and heat pumps: the DNO application or notification documents for connecting an EV charger or heat pump.
- a single line diagram showing how the equipment connects to your supply, drawn from your answers;
- a site plan showing the location of the property and equipment, drawn from your answers on an OpenStreetMap map (shown with "© OpenStreetMap contributors");
- a cover sheet naming the DNO that appears to serve your address, how that DNO says it accepts documents (online, email or post), and what to send; and
- a checklist of what you, and where needed your installer, must still do.
You can download the pack as many times as you like for 12 months from purchase. If the pack is wrong because of an error on our part, we will correct and regenerate it at no cost (see section 9).
You do not have to buy this pack. You can complete your DNO's own forms or online service yourself, and DNOs do not charge to receive a G98 notification. This includes plug-in solar kits, which you can notify yourself free of charge.
Which documents you get depends on your answers and the route CircuitHQ selects. Some forms ask for your installer's details, accreditation, declaration or signature. Get these from your installer before you submit. Each document in your pack is marked to show who must fill in and sign each part.
4. What the pack is not
- It is not an installation, a design, a design certification or an electrical inspection. We do not visit your property. We do not check your wiring, your supply, your cut-out, your earthing or whether your equipment is safe or suitable.
- The single line diagram and site plan show what you told us. They are to help the DNO understand your application. They are not a design for the installation, and no one should build or install from them. Your installer must design the installation and produce their own diagrams and certificates.
- It is not a substitute for a competent installer. Wired solar panels, batteries, EV chargers and heat pumps must be installed by a competent person. In England and Wales most of this work is notifiable under the Building Regulations (Part P) and must be certified by a registered competent person or approved by building control. We do not provide that certification, an MCS certificate or an Electrical Installation Certificate.
- It is not advice. We do not give legal, technical, financial or tariff advice (for example, about the Smart Export Guarantee, which usually needs an MCS-certified installation).
5. Your responsibilities
5.1 Your details must be accurate
The pack is only as good as your answers. You are responsible for making sure everything you tell us is true, complete and up to date. That includes your name and address, your MPAN (the 21-digit number on your electricity bill), your supply type, your existing equipment, and the make, model, rating and type test reference of the equipment.
5.2 Check the route we pick
CircuitHQ picks the route (G98, a G99 fast-track route, or a standard G99 application) automatically from your answers about the equipment's size, the number of phases, any existing generation or batteries, and any export limit. Before you send anything, check the route on your cover sheet matches your equipment. Your installer, equipment supplier or DNO can confirm it.
If you give us wrong or incomplete information and that leads to the wrong route or wrong documents, we are not responsible for the result (for example, a DNO rejection or a delay). This does not affect your rights if the pack is wrong because of a fault in CircuitHQ when your answers were correct (see section 9).
5.3 You submit the pack, not us
You send the pack to your DNO, using the method on the cover sheet. Neither we nor P P M Electrical Ltd submit it, and we do not use any ENA or DNO account on your behalf. You are responsible for sending it on time, to the right DNO, with everything the DNO asks for.
5.4 Installer details, declarations and signatures
Some forms ask for your installer's details or signature. Get these from your installer before you submit.
The ENA documents are written around an installer (the person responsible for the installation). In particular:
- G98 Form B1 (wired installation) needs your installer's name, accreditation and contact details, and is signed by both you and your installer. The installer's declaration that the installation meets EREC G98 can only be made by the person who did, or is responsible for, the installation. The DNO must be told no later than 28 days after commissioning.
- G99 Forms A1-1 and A1-2 ask for your installer's details and accreditation. You can make the application yourself as the owner of the equipment, but you will need to have chosen your installer first.
- Installation and commissioning documents (G99 Forms A3-1, A3-2, A3-3 and A2-4, the G100 commissioning form, and EV charger and heat pump forms) record tests and checks done on site. Your installer must complete or check, and sign, the parts that ask for the installer's declaration or test results.
- Plug-in solar (Form B2) and decommissioning (Form D) are completed by you as the customer.
If you send a form without the details, declarations or signatures it asks for, the DNO is likely to reject it or ask for more information. That is not a fault in the pack.
Some DNOs only accept certain documents from an installer. For example, UK Power Networks says only installers can notify it on behalf of customers, and ENA says EV charger and heat pump applications are made by the installer through ENA Connect Direct. Where the cover sheet says this applies to your DNO or form, give the pack to your installer to send, or check with the DNO first.
5.5 G99: apply and wait for approval before installing
If your route is a G99 application (Form A1-1, or Form A1-2 under the fast-track procedures SGI-2 and SGI-3):
- the application must be made, and the DNO must confirm it can go ahead, before the equipment is installed or switched on. Do not install or commission until the DNO tells you, in writing, that you can;
- under the fast-track routes, the planned commissioning date on the application must be between 10 working days and 3 months after you submit it;
- the DNO may: ask for more information; carry out network studies; charge for connection or network works; require network reinforcement or other works before you can connect; limit how much you can export (for example, by requiring an export limitation device under EREC G100); move your application to its standard process; or refuse or put conditions on the connection. None of these costs, works or limits is included in the £100, and we have no say over them;
- DNO timescales are outside our control. The DNO decides how long it takes. Any timescales on the cover sheet are what the DNO or ENA publishes and may change.
Exception, G99 SGI-1: where all the equipment uses fully type-tested inverters and the total registered capacity is no more than 16 A per phase (procedure SGI-1), EREC G99 lets the equipment be installed first and the DNO be notified on Form A3-3 within 28 days of commissioning. Your cover sheet will say if this applies.
EV chargers and heat pumps: whether you can connect first and notify within 28 days, or must apply and wait, depends on the new maximum demand and whether your supply is adequate. Your cover sheet will say which applies. Where it says "apply before installing", do not install until the DNO agrees.
5.6 G98: notify after installation
For a G98 route, the DNO is told after the equipment is installed, so DNO approval is not needed before installation. The DNO can still contact you or your installer if something is wrong, and can require changes or disconnection if the equipment does not meet the rules.
5.7 Lawful and safe installation
You are responsible for making sure the equipment is installed lawfully and safely, including any Building Regulations, planning, landlord, lease or insurance requirements. Do not fit wired equipment yourself unless you are competent and the work is lawful. Apart from compliant plug-in solar kits fitted to the manufacturer's instructions, we do not support DIY installations, and the pack must not be used to notify a DIY wired installation.
6. No guarantee of DNO approval
We do our best to make sure the pack contains what the DNO asks for. But the DNO makes its own decision. We do not guarantee that:
- your DNO will accept or approve the pack;
- you will get a connection, or any particular connection terms, export limit, cost or timescale; or
- your equipment can be connected without network works.
If the DNO asks for more information or changes, you (or your installer) must deal with the DNO directly. If the DNO's request shows an error on our part, we will correct and regenerate the pack at no cost (see section 9).
7. Payment
Payment is taken by our payment provider, Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe and never reach us. The price includes VAT. We will give you a VAT receipt.
8. Your right to cancel (14 days)
8.1 Before your pack is generated
You have the right to cancel this contract within 14 days of buying, without giving a reason, as long as your pack has not yet been generated or downloaded. To cancel, tell us clearly by email to info@circuithq.co.uk. You can use the model cancellation form at the end of these terms, but you don't have to. To meet the deadline, send your message before the 14 days end.
If you cancel, we will refund the full £100 to your card within 14 days of the day you tell us. You will not be charged a fee.
8.2 Once your pack is generated or downloaded
The pack is digital content. By law (regulation 37 of the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013), you lose the right to cancel once we start supplying it, but only if you have:
- expressly asked us to supply it within the 14-day cancellation period; and
- acknowledged that you will lose your right to cancel when supply begins.
We will ask you for both at checkout, and supply begins when you press "Generate my pack". Until then you can still cancel under section 8.1. This does not affect your rights if the pack is faulty (see section 9).
8.3 Checkout wording
At checkout you will see these two statements, each with its own tick box. The boxes are not ticked in advance, and you can only generate your pack once you have ticked both:
- "I want my pack to be created and made available to me straight away, before the 14-day cancellation period ends."
- "I understand that I will lose my right to cancel and get a refund once my pack has been generated or downloaded, unless the pack is faulty."
You will also be asked to tick a separate box to confirm:
- "I have read and agree to the Homeowner DNO Pack Terms (https://www.circuithq.co.uk/homeowner-dno-terms) and have read the Privacy Policy (https://www.circuithq.co.uk/privacy). I understand that CircuitHQ does not submit anything to my DNO, that the pack is not an official ENA or DNO form, and that DNO approval is not guaranteed."
8.4 Your confirmation
After you pay, and before your pack is generated, we give you a confirmation of your order on a durable medium in two ways:
- an order confirmation email, sent from support@circuithq.co.uk to the email address you give at checkout (replies go to support@circuithq.co.uk); and
- a PDF order confirmation for you to download and keep. The "Generate my pack" button is available only after the PDF has been offered to you.
Both contain:
- these terms in full (the version that applied when you ordered, currently 2026-10b) and our contact details;
- what you bought, the price, the date and your order reference;
- your express request for the pack to be supplied straight away, before the 14-day cancellation period ends;
- your acknowledgement that you lose your right to cancel once the pack is generated or downloaded; and
- the model cancellation form.
Please keep the email or the PDF. If you can't find the email, check your spam folder or contact us at info@circuithq.co.uk.
9. If your pack is faulty
Your legal rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 apply and cannot be excluded. The pack must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If it isn't (for example, our software put the wrong figures from your correct answers into the form, picked the wrong route from correct answers, or the file won't open), you are entitled to:
- a repair or replacement (we will correct and regenerate the pack), within a reasonable time and without significant inconvenience to you; or, if that isn't possible or doesn't fix it;
- a price reduction, which can be up to the full £100.
If faulty digital content we supply damages your device or other digital content, and this happens because we did not use reasonable care and skill, we will repair the damage or compensate you.
A pack is not faulty just because the DNO asks for more information, applies conditions or refuses the application, or because something you told us was wrong. This is a summary of your rights. For more, contact Citizens Advice (www.citizensadvice.org.uk) or, in Scotland, Advice Direct Scotland (www.consumeradvice.scot).
Other refunds: apart from the cancellation right in section 8.1 and your rights in this section, the £100 is not refundable.
10. Our liability to you
- Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit or exclude, including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 described in section 9.
- We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. Loss is foreseeable if it is obvious it will happen, or if both of us knew it might happen when you bought the pack.
- We are not responsible for: losses caused by wrong or incomplete information you gave us; the DNO's decisions, conditions, charges, works or timescales; anything your installer does or fails to do; anyone relying on the diagrams or site plan as a design; installation, safety or Building Regulations matters; or loss of export income or tariff payments, except where these are caused by our breach of these terms or our negligence.
- We supply the pack for domestic and private use only. We are not responsible for any loss of profit, business or business opportunity.
- Where the law allows, our total liability to you for anything arising out of these terms or the pack is limited to the price you paid (£100). This limit does not apply to anything in the first bullet above.
11. Complaints
If you are unhappy, please email info@circuithq.co.uk and tell us what went wrong. We will acknowledge your complaint within 5 working days and aim to give you a final response within 8 weeks.
We do not currently use an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) provider. If you are not happy with our final response, you can get free, impartial advice from Citizens Advice (www.citizensadvice.org.uk, 0808 223 1133), or, in Scotland, Advice Direct Scotland (www.consumeradvice.scot). You can also take your claim to court (see section 15).
Complaints about a DNO's decision must go to that DNO.
12. Your data
Our Privacy Policy at https://www.circuithq.co.uk/privacy explains how we use your details. Section 4A covers Homeowner DNO Pack buyers.
13. Intellectual property
You can use your pack for your own application or notification, and share it with your installer and DNO. You must not resell it or use CircuitHQ to make packs for other people for money.
14. Changes and general
- We may update these terms for future purchases. The version you accepted applies to your purchase.
- If a court decides part of these terms is invalid, the rest still applies.
- No one other than you and us has any right to enforce these terms.
- We may transfer our rights and obligations to another business if CircuitHQ is sold. We will tell you, and it will not reduce your rights.
15. Law and courts
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in England or Wales, you can bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland, you can bring a claim in the Scottish courts or the courts of England and Wales.
